Cleaning

Leatherstone materials are easily kept clean to retain their attractive appearance. Normal soiling can generally be removed with a damp soapy cloth. More obstinate dirt should be washed with warm soapy water and gently scrubbed with a soft brush. Then rinse with clean cold water and dry with a cloth. Always use either soap flakes or mild soap. DO NOT USE detergents, chemical cleaners, solvents, bleaches, abrasives, wax polishes and aerosol sprays etc., as these may harm the coating and surface of the material.

Resistance to Stains and Spills

Although Leatherstone materials are resistant to many mild acids, alkalis, drinks and common household fluids, any spillages should be wiped off as soon as possible. Some substances are very powerful staining agents for all vinyls, such as lipsticks, pen ink, food colourings etc., and may cause permanent staining. This can be minimised by immediate cleaning as instructed above.

Marine Quality and anti-bacterial ingredients

Leatherstone materials are certified by RINA, the internationally recognised company responsible for recognising excellence in the marine and shipping industry. Our materials can also be manufactured with special nanotechnology compounds to improve the anti-fungicidal qualities of upholstered areas of boats and ships exposed to the elements.
